Papermaking: Create Your Own Scroll

In this program, you will craft a scroll starting from the very beginning of traditional papermaking—peeling and beating the bark of kōzo trees. You will make a sheet of washi paper approximately 190mm × 370mm, which will be stretched on a drying board while still wet and taken home. Once dry, attach it to a scroll set to complete your unique creation.

Finished scroll size: Height 200mm × Diameter 25mm
